About 2 years ago, Facebook rolled out it’s new ground-breaking addition to the social network: Facebook Chat. Ever since the, the Instant Messaging arena has evolved so much. From Yahoo to Google to Microsoft, all have dived into the sea of desktop apps.
But many people don’t like to log in to Facebook every time they want to chat with their contacts. So, what do we do? Well, we use Chit Chat for Facebook.
Chit Chat for Facebook is a free instant messenger that allows you to chat with all your Facebook contacts. It connects to Facebook Chat and removes the need to use a web-browser to talk over Facebook Chat.

To use, all you need to do is download the 1.3 Mb setup, and install Chit Chat. On the initial launch, you see a window like the one below where you need to enter you Facebook email address and password and login.

The best thing about Chit Chat, other than tabbed chats, is how easy it makes it for me to format my own instant messages and add emoticons.

What’s even better is that the software doesn’t take much of my system’s resources. Even at peaks, it’s only about 10Mb. Chit Chat is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
