3 Tips To Search People On Facebook Effectively
by Karan Goel
Facebook is really very good. And the best part about the site is the ability to find your long lost friends. About 2 months ago, I got a friend request from one of my friends who had shifted to the USA about 3 years ago. I was so happy to (virtually) meet him, that I decided to write a post about effective people search on Facebook.
Use these and see if you can find some of your long lost friends!
Find People From Your Email Address Book (FriendFinder)

Facebook can find people for you from your email address book. All major webmail services like Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail are supported.
Advanced Search Application

is a better tool to search for friends on Facebook.
On the prompt to share your email address, click No, and click Click here to add the “Advanced Search” application link at the bottom. Click Allow in the Allow Access? prompt to proceed. Optionally you can fill your profile and click Save and Continue. Finally, click Add Bookmark to access Advanced Search quickly from your profile.
Find People by Age/Gender/Relationship Status/Star Sign

On the Find People tab, you can search for people of a specific Gender and within a certain Age group. You can search by specific Relationship Status, or by their Star Sign. You can even search for people who have the same Birthday as you.
Find People by Location
You can combine the above search restricting to a specific Country, Region, and City. For example, you can search for single people in your area according to their Star Sign and who they are interested in meeting.

unfortunately, advanced search app on facebook doesn't work really well. I've tried several times. Or maybe its because i'm using the 2.2beta version?

Hey Andy.
Maybe it's because you are in the beta list. And that might be a bug in there!
