Easily Mark Emails in Gmail As ‘Unread’

gmailSo, today you logged in your Gmail email account to read a few important mails. You find an email really very important and open it to read it. After reading just two lines, your mom calls you and you have to go. You are sure that you won’t be able to access that important email in the coming few days. Also, finding the email might be a trouble if it it labeled “Read”.

So, just to clean out the clutter and help you out here, I am showing you a really easy tip to mark your emails “Unread” even if you have read them.

So, let’s start.

Default ‘Mark Unread’ option in Gmail

Log-in to your Gmail inbox and tick to select message(s). Then click “More Actions” and click “Mark as UnRead” option. This will mark all the selected messages as unread. This is the easiest method to mark emails as Unread.

Mark specific point in email as Unread

mark-unread-from-here-gmailWhile exchanging and replying to email, we tend to have multiple message threads in same email. Instead of marking whole email with multiple messages and replies, you can mark that email unread from specific point or message. This is possible using “Mark unread from here” labs feature. Open Gmail inbox, go to “Settings” tab and click on “Labs” tab . Then click ‘enable’ next to “Mark unread from here” and hit the ‘save changes’ button. Now open any multi-message email, click arrow next to reply button and then click “Mark unread from here” option. Hence, mark emails as unread in Gmail the way you want – take you pick!
