2 Sites To Get Royalty-Free Images For Free
By: Karan Goel | 9th January 2010
Nowadays, a lot of bloggers use copyrighted images in their blog posts without consent of the copyright holder. It’s true that we can find any image we want in the google image search and various good image search engines.
Being a legit blogger, we always want to be on a safer side and use only non-copyrighted and royalty-free images. Sites like iStockImage provide such services, but they are paid. So, I will show you two websites to get free and legal images to use on your blog.
#1. PicApp (link) - Find Best Free Legal Images, Save Bandwidth
They include a plugin to post photos directly from WordPress. You can find thousands of super quality photos of celebrities etc, all properly licensed for use through PicApp and contracts between the companies that own the image rights.

The best is that you can hotlink the image from their servers. As they say “Jazz up your blog, at no cost, with millions of premium, relevant, fresh and legal images to choose from.”
#2. Sprixi (link) – Find Images and their Credits Links Together
The second is the search engine sprixi capable of finding multiple photos, and provide us the information, ie the link we must include to comply with the licensing of the image. (Note: They are now updating the site. so they are down)

Each photo can be scored to improve the algorithm and provide better results as time passes.
