More and more businesses are choosing to relax the control that their IT departments have on their ecosystems, and allow employees to “Bring their own device”. This change in policies is good for employee morale, and can make life easier for people that do a lot of remote working, but it has downsides too.
Let’s just say upfront that we all have something of a love-hate relationship with Apple products. Of course the industry giant ensures that their technological innovations are the absolute best in whatever niche they choose to pursue.
Despite the fact that Microsoft was producing Windows-based tablet computers for a while, it took the launch of the first iPad for shoppers to pay attention and take a serious look at the tablet personal computer. The iPad features a smooth, cutting-edge and attractive design that virtually all of the PC tablets back then were missing. Tablets that are Android-based have just entered the market as a competitor to the iPad and are starting to build a following.
While 2011 was the year when touchscreen tablet computers finally exploded onto the scene, 2012 will be the year when tablets and laptops go head to head for the hearts of consumers.
