There’s trouble in the land of tiny eyes and giant smiles, and its name is Super Meat Boy. No, I’m not talking about the pink slime prevalent in your low-priced, grocery-store brand hamburger. In fact, this lovable, bouncing blob of a meat is no food source, but rather an unlikely hero bent on making his way through devilishly difficult landscapes comprised of whirling saw blades, burning terrain, and floors that fall out from under you. Are they made of lava? Maybe. The point of this seemingly useless activity is to save the princess (Bandage Girl, who is Meat Boy’s equally square-shaped female counterpart) and slay the proverbial dragon (Dr. Fetus – a baby…in an incubator…with a monocle, a top hat, and a robot body…and utter awesomeness ensues).
